In der dritten Folge, Eigentum/Stimme/Repräsentation, untersucht die Serie kritisch die Darstellung verschiedener Gruppen in der Mainstream-Kultur. Es wird untersucht, wie Kulturen interagieren und sich überschneiden, welche Personen und Ereignisse die öffentliche Meinung prägen und wie verschiedene Stimmen in öffentliche Planungsprozesse einbezogen werden. Die Folge beleuchtet auch die Vertretung von Personen, die keinen Status haben oder nicht zur nationalen Bevölkerung gehören, und den Einzug neuer Ideen und Innovationen in verschiedene Bereiche.

In the third episode, Ownership/Voice/Representation the podcast critically examines the representation of different groups in mainstream culture. It explores how cultures interact and intersect, the individuals and events that shape public opinion, and the involvement of diverse voices in public planning processes. The episode also sheds light on the representation of individuals without status or not belonging to the national population and the entry of new ideas and innovation into various sectors.

Guest Biographies / Gästebiographien

Ali Moraly is a violinist, composer, educator and writer/critic based in Berlin. Born in Damascus - Syria, where he studied at the Higher institute of Music. He holds Masters degree from the University of Music in Karlsruhe-Germany (Musikhochschule) and was commissioned by documenta14 in Kassel, the theatre of Oldenburg and BACH fest in Tübingen. He performed in the middle-East, Europe and the United States. Former member of the West-Eastern DIVAN co-founded by Eduard Said (1935-2003) and Daniel Barenboim. He writes opinion pieces, treatises and reviews on arts and culture for various publications in the Arab world and elsewhere.

Khabit Ebob Enow Kahbit Ebob Enow is a PAN African Womanist, activist, African CommUnity organizer, facilitator and project manager. Her work centers empowerment of African and Black communities on the African continent and in Germany. In 2017, she co-founded and coordinated Southern Cameroons Communities in Germany (SCCG) as a diaspora response to the "Anglophone Crisis. SCCG serves as an umbrella organization for Southern Cameroonians in all the federals states in Germany rally and organize war relief efforts. She coordinated the Committee for the Erection of an African Monument in Berlin (KADIB), which organizes the annual memorial march, in honor of African victims and heroines of enslavement, colonialism, and racism.  In 2022 she initiated and founded tubman.network- an emergency relief for BIPoCs fleeing war in Ukraine

Yara Mekawei ist eine multidisziplinäre Künstlerin, die hauptsächlich mit der Materialität und Immaterialität von Klang arbeitet und erforscht, wie Klang visuelle und skulpturale künstlerische Praktiken informiert und transformiert. Für Mekawei wird der Klang zu einer materiellen Quelle und einer physischen Verkörperung von Wissen, die die meisten ihrer Werke belebt, während sie erforscht, wie der Klang ein Wandler und Konvergenzpunkt von Zeit-Raum-Beziehungen ist, wie sie in afrikanischen und arabischen Philosophien ausgedrückt und erfahren werden.

The "Civic City" series of conversations, which will also be broadcast live as a podcast and video stream, brings together artists*, urbanists*, thinkers*, and organizers in conversations to discuss, explore, and imagine new forms of living, working, and participating together in Berlin, both now and in the future.
What does participation look like in a city like Berlin? Is it constant voting in referenda or referendums, do citizens get the opportunity to participate in planning processes? How do we develop alternative designs amidst a flood of fragmentary information and impulses that fill our daily lives? In this daily onslaught, after the fake news has filtered out, where do we still find places where open discussion is possible? Is it possible to combine participation, family and work? How do people who are part of this society but do not have German citizenship participate?
In a series of 5 conversations, we want to create public spaces of mutual enrichment that allow moments of shared reflection and imagination. Moderated by Fetewei Tarekegn, a presenter, artist, and urban gardener who regularly invites guests on his show "Minority Report" to engage in critical conversations about their experiences as part of minority groups and who co-manages a community garden at the Dammweg Community Campus.
This series is a joint project of ACUD MACHT NEU, the Community Campus Dammweg (Berlin Mondiale), tak Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg and Aufbau Haus and is part of the initiative DRAUSSENSTADT, funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Europe and the Stiftung für Kulturelle Weiterbildung und Kulturberatung.

Die Gesprächsreihe "Civic City", die auch live als Podcast und Videostream übertragen wird, bringt Künstler*innen, Urbanist*innen, Denker*innen und Organisator*innen in Unterhaltungen zusammen, um aktuelle und zukünftige Formen des Zusammenlebens, der Arbeit und der Beteiligung in Berlin zu diskutieren, zu untersuchen und neue Formen zu imaginieren.

Wie sieht Teilhabe und Partizipation in einer Stadt wie Berlin aus? Ist es ständiges Abstimmen in Volksentscheiden oder Referenden, bekommen Bürger*innen Gelegenheit, sich in Planungsprozessen einzubringen? Wie entwickeln wir Alternativ-Entwürfe inmitten einer Flut von fragmentarischen Informationen und Impulsen, die unsere Alltage füllen? Wo finden wir in diesem täglichen Ansturm, nachdem der Fake News gefiltert ist, noch Plätze, in denen eine offene Diskussion möglich ist? Ist es möglich, Teilhabe, Familie und Beruf zu vereinen? Wie beteiligen sich Menschen, die Teil dieser Gesellschaft sind, aber über keine deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit verfügen?
In einer Reihe von 5 Gesprächen möchten wir öffentliche Räume der gegenseitigen Bereicherung schaffen, die Momente der gemeinsamen Reflektion und Vorstellung erlauben. Moderiert von Fetewei Tarekegn, einem Moderator, Künstler und urbanen Gärtner, der in seiner Sendung “Minority Report” regelmäßig Gäste zu kritischen Unterhaltungen über ihre Erfahrungen als Teil von Minderheiten einlädt und am Community Campus Dammweg einen Gemeinschaftsgarten mitbetreibt.
